Each town is rich with history and all offer spectacular views of the Mobile Bay. With so much to do and see, how do you decide where to go when you are traveling with your family? We have mapped out an exciting list of family-fun activities perfect for any road-trip!

Let us begin our journey, shall we?

1.     Fairhope Rich in history, the quaint town of Fairhope is known for its picturesque scenery and family-friendly entertainment. Each street in the downtown area is lined with fresh flowers and small boutiques perfect for a day of shopping. While you are here stop in Fantasy Island Toys, a locally-owned store that has been in business for decades inspiring children’s imagination. Do not worry about the kids touching things as this is a hands-on toy store and playtime is welcome for all ages! After you have picked out a few new toys it is time to head over to Mr. Genes Beans, an ice cream parlor full of sweet treats. This “local’s approved” ice cream shop offers a variety of flavors and each scoop is served with a smile. Eat your scoops there or take them to go as you head to the Fairhoper’s Community Park a large outdoor park complete with age divided play areas and a splash pad. Picnic on the manicured lawn and let the kids run around in the fully fenced in park.

2.     Daphne The unique town of Daphne, known as the Jubilee City, is a great place to spend the day with the family. The downtown area has three parks great for picnicking and relaxing. Stop at Mayday Park and enjoy views of the Mobile Bay while you walk on the handicap accessible boardwalk. Kick back, relax and let the kids play in the sand as you soak up the views of the water. Next, head over to Something Sweet Bake Shop, a locally-owned fresh bakery, and choose from their many flavors of cupcakes, fudge, and sweet treats.  YUM! If you are looking for a little indoor fun, stop in Hot Wheels Skate Center and burn some energy on wheels.

3.     Spanish Fort The City of Spanish Fort is filled with history and family-fun. Stop in the Eastern Shore Centre for exciting activities like indoor put-put golf, a virtual reality lounge, ax throwing, bowling and more all in one spot! Spend a few hours or a full day exploring each of these exciting adventures. If you want to add a little history to your trip, explore Blakley State Park or The USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park. Both of these destinations are rich in education and excitement. Spend a day enjoying the outdoors at 5 Rivers Delta Resource Center on the causeway. Jump on a boat tour of the delta or hike around the many nature trails and learn about local wildlife. Stop by The Fort Container Park for lunch where everybody can pick from their favorite restaurant and play in this outdoor playground and splash pad.

With so many exciting family-friendly options on the Eastern Shore, it is hard to choose just one. Now is the time to map out your next adventure!
