The quiet, charming town of Fairhope is bustling with small businesses and a unique charm hard to find anywhere else. From story-tale cottages to family-friendly adventures, Fairhope needs to be added to your bucket list of must-visit places. If you are visiting for the first time, we have mapped out a mini day adventure your family is sure to enjoy.

Fairhope is located alongside the Mobile Bay and offers spectacular views of the water. You will want to start your day with a short stroll around the Fairhope Pier. Begin at S Mobile Street that runs on top of the bluff overlooking the bay. Trust us, you will want to see this view before heading down to the pier. Lined with tulips and art, this street offers parking and a sidewalk for easy access.

Once you have taken in the views, head down the hill to the Fairhope Pier. Experience fresh rose gardens and a perfectly manicured lawn surrounding the famous Fairhope fountain.  Make sure you stop and let the kids do somersaults in the soft grass before snapping a picture by the fountain. Stroll down the pier and watch anglers of every level try their hand at reeling in fish that swim in the waters below. Enjoy a walk through the sand to the quant bridge where the Fairhope ducks and geese live. Stay for a while and play on the playground just a couple yards from the calm waters of the bay.

After you have strolled through the Fairhope Municipal Park (LINK) it is time to head to downtown Fairhope for dining and shopping. Experience savory locally-owned restaurants and unique private boutique shops all within walking distance of each other. Do not forget to stop and smell the flowers. There are literally thousands of flowers lining the streets of Downtown Fairhope all year long. Stop by the Fairhope Welcome Center for a glimpse of this town and to chat with the locals who have lived here all their lives.

The afternoon is over, and the evening is coming alive. Walk on down to the Orange Street pier and sit in peaceful bliss as you watch an Alabama sunset from the shoreline of the Mobile Bay. After the sunset explore more restaurants that offer live music options and fun family entertainment. Dance a little, laugh a lot and enjoy all that Fairhope has to offer.
